What’s in a name? The genesis of “Reap Marketing”

I’ve been asked a few times about the genesis of the name “Reap”… Now, I’ve never been much in to the deeper hidden meanings behind logos or slogans.. either you get it or you don’t.  But somehow with Reap, we were able to accomplish both surface and deeper implications. I’ve also always thought that better names, logos, and slogans are the ones that seem like such simple works of art… ones that make you say, “why didn’t I come up with that?”  Being that I’ve actually had people ask me that, perhaps I’ve struck gold..? Now, a brand doesn’t make (Click to read more…)

How Much Would You Pay for FREE Marketing?

“We’ll deliver marketing solutions that maximize your ROI”… it’s sooo cliche… it’s sooo predictable.. it’s so mind-numbing. “We’ll optimize your website to help increase your bottom line”… also cliche.. predictable.. mind-numbing. “We’ll build an interactive strategy to help build brand awareness”… uggghhh… I’m done. There’s a buzz in the air in downtown Minneapolis on an overcast (Click to read more…)

Warren Buffet and I Have This Habitual Time-Waste Commonality

This video makes me feel (marginally) better about spending a few extra minutes downloading Garmin Forerunner data, finding new music on iTunes, and generally surfing the web. But consider the time-management lesson here.. as a passionate business person, it’s difficult to disconnect from work when there’s a seemingly endless lists of tasks to accomplish at any given time.  Face it, the list IS endless.. even Warren Buffet doesn’t work 24 hours a day.. so the key is to prioritize and then surround yourself with talented people who are also making significant contributions to the success of the organization.  As a (Click to read more…)

Enjoy This Picture of Me Sunbathing Topless

It was 111 degrees today… or maybe not exactly, but it seemed like it.  There was a cloud or two, so technically it got down to about 90, I think.  But it was still about 99% humidity.  Uhh.. It’s hard to believe that it was just a couple of months ago that it was almost “too cool” to get in the pool.  You know those few weeks in the late spring when you’re getting in the pool.. and somewhere between the time that the water gets to your knees and gets to your nipples, you have to stop and take (Click to read more…)
